Fight Osteoporosis with these additional Steps!
1. Hit the Weights
The number one thing that people can do to keep their skeletal bone mass optimized is weight-bearing exercise. Walk, run, jump, circuit train, jump rope, do push-ups, jumping jacks, etc. The more you use your skeleton for weight-bearing impact the better off your bones will be. Be sure to get at least 30 minutes daily with gentle stretching for flexibility. Also, incorporate weight bearing exercise in your daily home exercise routine, and take additional calcium supplementation at doses specifically recommended by your own physician. Medications for osteoporosis management are also available and should be discussed with your physician.
2. Eat a Balanced, Healthy Diet:
Focus your diet on lean meats or fish and fresh vegetables. Grains and fruits are ok, but most of your calories should come from meats and fish, vegetables and good fats present in salmon, tuna or avocado.
3. Get Your 8 Glasses of Water:
Or even more! Staying well hydrated is important to make sure your body can function properly. A good rule of thumb is to drink 1 liter of water for every 50 lbs of body weight.
Besides the above, fight osteoporosis with the right supplements for maintaining your bone strength.
